Optional medical travel coverage now available through Green Shield Canada
Effective January 1, 2022, Green Shield Canada (GSC) will offer optional medical travel coverage for retired members of the College Pension Plan.
This coverage is available at competitive rates to any retired member enrolled in GSC’s extended health care or dental coverage, supplementing these benefits for a more comprehensive package. Coverage is aligned with government travel advisories and any travel restrictions.
GSC’s optional medical travel coverage focuses on protection for unexpected injuries or illnesses that require immediate medical attention while travelling. It does not include broader coverage such as trip cancellation or baggage delay. Combination broader travel coverage and medical travel coverage is offered through other channels; GSC encourages you to research your options to determine what is best for your situation.
