Changes and pre-retirement leave

All service earned prior to April 1, 2018 falls under the previous plan rules. The new plan changes apply to all service earned on or after April 1, 2018.

If you are currently on or planning to start pre-retirement leave (including vacation) you are continuing to earn pensionable service. If your retirement date takes effect within a few months following April 1, 2018, you can expect a nominal impact to your overall pension.
