Sign in to My Account to find out the cost to buy service and how much your monthly pension benefit may increase.

  1. In My Account, click Estimates > Purchase cost estimator
  2. Follow the steps
  3. Use your estimate to help with decision making or consult with a financial adviser

Eligibility

Who can use the estimator

Most members who are eligible to buy service can use the purchase cost estimator. Eligibility may include:

  • Your leave has ended
  • Within the deadline to apply
  • Actively employed by same employer


Who can’t use the estimator

  • If you want to make continuous contributions for your Employment Standards Act (ESA—approved leave of absence
  • If you have a former spouse who is entitled to a share of your pension
  • If you are currently working in a position where you do not make monthly pension contributions
  • If you are currently on long-term disability and want to buy back a previous leave
  • If you are wanting to buy past service for a period before your employer joined the plan
  • If you want to buy service for an ESA—approved leave and you were not working full time before the leave


If any of these scenarios apply to you, to get a cost estimate, you must complete the Purchase of Service Application Package, located at the bottom of the page Submit a form to buy service.
