BC's Public Service Pension Plan has a joint trusteeship governance structure. The joint trust agreement, signed by the plan member partner and plan employer partner, provides the Public Service Pension Board of Trustees with guidelines on how to prudently manage the pension plan and pension funds in a framework where plan members and employers share the responsibility of plan governance, and the risks and rewards of plan sponsorship. The board has the powers necessary to administer the plan and pension funds, subject to the limitations set out in this agreement, the plan rules and applicable laws.
