Recently announced changes by your Public Service Pension Plan Board of Trustees mean that you may benefit as a retired member. As a result of the plan’s recent positive valuation and surplus, your lifetime pension is improving for pensionable service that you have already earned.

Pensionable service period

The effect of the October 1, 2019, changes depends on when you earned pensionable service:

Service earned between April 1, 2006 and March 31, 2018, inclusive, will fall under new rules effective October 1, 2019.
Service earned before April 1, 2006, will not be affected by the changes to the plan.
