Learn how certain plan changes affect you as a retired member

Who is affected?

For the vast majority of retired members, if you were under age 65 on October 1, 2019, your lifetime pension increased and your bridge benefit decreased, resulting in no change to your total pension payment.

At age 65 (when your bridge payment ends) you receive a higher lifetime pension amount than your original pension calculation.

Changes effective October 1, 2019, also apply to retired members who worked as correctional members or certain ambulance paramedics in the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 873.
